Franchising Development Services North (FDS
North) managing director Tony Urwin will issue
the warning at a British Franchising Association
(BFA) event in Manchester.
The seminar, on September 19, will outline the pros
and cons of franchising as a route for expansion for
companies in the region which are keen to grow.
Too many potential franchisors assume that
franchisees will be a cash cow and fail to
understand the commitment required, according to
guest speaker Tony.
“It
is a common misconception that businesses can expand
at no cost through franchising and will make a great
deal of money without making any investment,” he
said.
“These businesses and their unlucky franchisees are
heading for failure.
“But this mistake is easily avoided if businesses
research the process and recognise they must commit
time and money to develop the company through
franchising.” |
